The track
Casino Ajax sits at Ajax Downs, a quarter-horse racetrack owned and operated by Picov Downs Inc. The track and the casino share one address, 50 Alexander's Crossing. Picov Downs took the name Ajax Downs in 2006, the year OLG Slots at Ajax Downs opened there. The slots hall became Casino Ajax in 2018.
Ajax Downs has 22 quarter-horse race days in 2026. The meet opened on May 6 and closes with three October dates: October 7, 12 and 21. Between those points, racing ran through June, July, August and September. October cards have first post at 12:55 p.m. Earlier in the season, most Wednesday cards from May 6 to August 19 started at 3:30 p.m.
