Two floors and a poker room
Two connected casino floors make up the resort. The new casino opened on June 20, 2023. The Grandstand Casino, formerly Casino Woodbine, opened in 1999 as a slots parlour beside Woodbine Racetrack. Together they show 4,500+ slot machines and e-tables and 164 table games, with a high-limit area where table minimums start at $100.
The poker room sits in the Grandstand Casino, Level Two, and is open 24/7 with walk-in registration. Games include No Limit from 1/3 up to 10/20, 20/40 Omaha half-kill, and two Pot-Limit Omaha games starting at 2/2.
Pickering Casino Resort's poker room is temporarily closed during the labour disruption. Casino Ajax has no poker room and no live table games. Pot-Limit Omaha appears on this list and not on Pickering's. In return, Pickering's room lists 25/50 No Limit on request. Pickering Casino Resort also sits 2.7 km from central Pickering, against 43.5 km here.
Hotel, theatre and tables to eat at
The hotel has 400 rooms and opened in August 2023. Concerts play at The Theatre, the resort's own venue. Restaurants listed at the resort are Chopsticks Noodlehouse, Casual Toronto, Copperhorn Meet House, Lobster Legend Noodle Bar, The Northern Lights Bar and Pizzaiolo.
Two of those names will look familiar to Pickering readers. Pickering Casino Resort lists a Copperhorn and a Casual, both temporarily closed there during the labour disruption. Here, the restaurants operate as usual.
