Ajax Downs has 22 quarter-horse race days in 2026. The meet opened on May 6 and closes on October 21, with Wednesday as the regular race day in summer. The spring and early summer dates are May 6, 13, 20 and 27; June 3, 10 and 21; and July 1, 8, 19 and 29.
After that come August 5, 12, 19 and 30, then September 9, 16, 23 and 30. Three October dates close the season: October 7, 12 and 21. The last of them, October 21, is the 22nd card of the year.
First post is 3:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from May 6 to August 19, with one exception: July 1 starts at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, July 19, has a 12:30 p.m. first post. The other race days start at 12:55 p.m., all three October cards included.

Ajax Downs is owned and operated by Picov Downs Inc. The track sits at 50 Alexanders Crossing, Ajax, the same address as Casino Ajax. The racetrack and the slots share one site, while Great Canadian Entertainment runs the casino.
Neither name on the site is the original one. The track was called Picov Downs until 2006, when it became Ajax Downs and OLG Slots at Ajax Downs opened there. In 2018 the slots were renamed Casino Ajax. The gaming floor has 500 slot machines and electronic table games, but no live tables and no poker room.
